I had heard talk from other backyard gardeners, that vine borers destroy plants quickly and mercilessly. And now, I was part of the club.
The good news? The neighboring yellow squash plants TOOK OFF. I kid you not, they looked noticeably bigger and healthier the day after I gave them more space.
The bad news? Squash don’t like being relocated.
When I see blooms, I like to help out the neighborhood bees and do a little bit of pollination by hand… you know, just to be sure.
